The project includes a 3.5 MW solar installation and a BESS designed to store electricity for use when demand is highest. Once operational, the system is expected to supply approximately 40% of the university\u2019s electricity needs and reduce reliance on external energy sources. The battery storage system will add flexibility to the campus energy setup by holding daytime solar output for use when electricity demand rises. Annual greenhouse gas emissions are expected to fall by more than 775.6 metric tons through the use of renewable solar power.
