(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office identified a man who was found dead three days after going inside the Kern River on the Fourth of July as 24-year-old Gustavo Angel Orea Lara of Newhall.<\/p>\n<p>The coroner\u2019s report said on July 4, 2026, at around 3:46 p.n., Lara went into the Kern River near Keysville South and went unresponsive.<\/p>\n<p>He was found dead in the river on July 7th.<\/p>\n<p>The report said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
