There was optimism he would be available against the Giants because he was listed as questionable and wasn\u2019t ruled out for the game as in previous weeks.<\/p>\n But when the team turned in its pregame list of inactives, Purdy\u2019s name was on it.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re trying to ease Brock out there in the practice stuff, but anytime you\u2019re dealing with his turf toe, it\u2019s something that probably won\u2019t fully go away all year regardless of when he comes back,\u201d Shanahan said. \u201cHe\u2019s going to always have to deal with a little bit. \u2026 So it\u2019s really about just assessing when\u2019s the best time to come back that you have to deal with it the least. It\u2019s a little bit of a tricky decision.\u201d<\/p>\n Shanahan said Brock Purdy \u201cwasn\u2019t that close\u201d to being active Sunday despite being listed as questionable.
