STATELINE, NEVADA<\/p>\n

Stephen Curry knew the LeBron James question was coming.<\/p>\n

The superstar point guard sat at the front of a press tent Thursday at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course ahead of this weekend\u2019s celebrity pro-am American Century Championship knowing he was going to get asked about the biggest free agent remaining in the NBA, who has been linked to joining Curry and the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have a percentage,\u201d Curry said about the chances of the Warriors landing James. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of up to him. I feel like any place he called and said, \u2018I want to play there,\u2019 you\u2019d move mountains to make it happen. And I know we\u2019re in that boat as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pitch is we\u2019re going to play good basketball, be around people that know how to play the game. Hopefully he\u2019ll raise our floor on our competitiveness this year. There\u2019s good golf in the Bay. We\u2019re an organization that\u2019s been there, and he knows that. That\u2019s really self-explanatory. It\u2019s just a matter of where he sees himself fitting at the end of the day. That\u2019s up to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Warriors have made moves this offseason to mostly bring back their team that was eliminated in the second-game of the play-in tournament by the Phoenix Suns in the spring.<\/p>\n

They re-signed veteran big men Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford, and they brought back guard De\u2019Anthony Melton. Otherwise, their most notable new addition is rookie Yaxel Lendeborg whom they selected with the No. 11 pick in the NBA draft.<\/p>\n

The Warriors also are dealing with the uncertainty surrounding Jimmy Butler\u2019s return from a torn ACL in his right knee and Moses Moody\u2019s torn left patellar than his return in 2026 in doubt.<\/p>\n

Golden State, like the rest of the NBA, is waiting to see where James lands for his 24th season while turning 42 in December.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s TBD,\u201d Curry said about how he feels about the Warriors\u2019 offseason should they miss out on James. \u201cBecause with free agency, LeBron\u2019s in a situation where the league is waiting, but other than that, it\u2019s great to KP back, it\u2019s great to get (Melton) back. We\u2019re in a unique situation because Jimmy\u2019s hurt and Moses is hurt and they\u2019re going to miss amount of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou got to try to hold the fort down as best you can until those guys get back because we do have an idea of who can be with them. But I know Mike (Dunleavy Jr.), Steve (Kerr) and Joe (Lacob) are all doing the best they can to make the right decision with what\u2019s available.\u201d<\/p>\n

James is an unrestricted free agent after spending the past eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers. He\u2019s been heavily linked to the Warriors and his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom he debuted in 2003 and won a championship in 2016 during his second stint with the team.<\/p>\n
