It took an extra week, but Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski finally knows where he\u2019s going for the All-Star break.<\/p>\n
Wrobleski was added to the National League roster as a replacement for Cincinnati Reds pitcher Chase Burns, MLB announced Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not happy that I wasn\u2019t going to be a part of it,\u201d Wrobleski said. \u201cAnd obviously, getting the news that I\u2019m going to be able to go there and do it, it\u2019s super exciting. Wide range of emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wrobleski is the sixth Dodger to be named a 2026 All-Star, joining Shohei Ohtani (who won\u2019t be attending), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (also not playing), Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy and Andy Pages.<\/p>\n
This is Wrobleski\u2019s first All-Star selection, in his first full season in the Dodgers rotation. His 2.69 ERA ranked No. 8 among qualified NL pitchers entering Saturday. And his 10 wins was tied for No. 2.<\/p>\n
\u201cA year ago he was in the minors,\u201d manager Dave Roberts said this week while lobbying for Wrobleski\u2019s inclusion in the All-Star Game. \u201cAnd so to kind of look at himself in the mirror and really be honest and say, \u201cHow can I get better to be a major league pitcher?\u201d And he\u2019s walked the walk, which is really impressive for a young player.\u201d<\/p>\n
D\u00edaz on rehab assignment<\/p>\n
In a promising sign for Dodgers closer Edwin D\u00edaz\u2019s recovery timeline, he is scheduled to make a rehab assignment with single-A Ontario on Saturday. D\u00edaz made just seven appearances for the Dodgers before undergoing an operation to remove loose bodies from his right elbow in late April.<\/p>\n
Blake Snell, who also had loose bodies removed from his pitching elbow, progressed to throwing live batting practice on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Roster moves<\/p>\n
The Dodgers made a series of moves to add a fresh arm to the bullpen before Saturday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n
They reinstated pitcher Landon Knack from the injured list (strained oblique). In a pair of corresponding moves, the Dodgers optioned pitcher Kyle Hurt to triple-A Oklahoma City and designated pitcher Charlie Barnes for assignment.<\/p>\n
MLB draft<\/p>\n
With their first pick of the MLB draft, No. 40 overall, the Dodgers selected infielder Bo Lowrance out of Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, S.C.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are ecstatic about landing Bo Lowrance,\u201d Dodgers\u2019 amateur scouting director Zach Fitzpatrick said in a statement. \u201cHe was our main target.
