Oakland police arrested three people and recovered multiple firearms, narcotics and cash during an investigation targeting violent crime, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The Oakland Police Department said Ceasefire officers identified a person on Wednesday with an outstanding felony warrant for weapons violations in East Oakland.<\/p>\n
Officers, assisted by the California Highway Patrol and its air unit, stopped the suspect’s vehicle near Orinda and detained two adults without incident, according to the police.<\/p>\n
Police said officers spotted a firearm in plain view inside the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered five handguns, an AK-style pistol and narcotics packaged for sale.<\/p>\n
Both occupants, who were prohibited from possessing firearms, were arrested on multiple felony allegations.<\/p>\n
Investigators later served a search warrant at a residence in East Oakland, where they seized additional narcotics and cash.
