GREECE, N.Y. \u2014 A Greece woman received a mysterious package she never ordered, and News10NBC Chief Investigative Reporter Berkeley Brean tracked the delivery from California to a warehouse in Henrietta. <\/p>\n
The delivery<\/p>\n
Amy Cordaro\u2019s doorbell camera captured the delivery last week. When she opened the package after work, she found half a dozen hard plastic multi-colored pebbles inside.<\/p>\n
The package was so light that the deliveryman picked up a landscaping rock and placed it on top of the package to keep it from blowing away.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s all that was in that package?\u201d Berkeley asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cCorrect,\u201d Cordaro said. <\/p>\n
Who sent it? <\/p>\n
The sender\u2019s name on the packaging was listed as Vincent Vincent. The address traced back to a warehouse outside Anaheim, California. The delivery company listed was Go-Fo, which Berkeley found at the end of a dead-end street in Henrietta.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe delivery of this package has made you feel what?\u201d Berkeley asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cFreaked out. Definitely freaked out. Not quite sure what was in the package,\u201d Cordaro said. <\/p>\n
How the scam works <\/p>\n
The Postal Service said it never touched the package. However, its inspectors believe it\u2019s a brushing scam and made a warning video about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrushing happens when a package appears right on your doorstep. You didn\u2019t request it. You didn\u2019t order it,\u201d said Andrea Avery, U.S. Postal Inspector. \u201cThe company sending the items are simply using your address. They then post a fake positive review on their website to boost their seller ratings which translates into more sales for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
The warning states that whoever is behind the scheme has \u201cyour personal information\u201d and the fake review \u201cprompts people to purchase worthless stuff.\u201d <\/p>\n

I mean as long as I\u2019ve been living I\u2019ve never had this experience in my life. So it\u2019s totally new to me,\u201d Cordaro said.<\/p>\n Berkeley contacted Go-Fo but hasn\u2019t received a response. Postal inspectors said that if a package is paid for, unless it\u2019s leaking or ticking, there is nothing that stops a delivery.<\/p>\n Recipients can keep unsolicited packages.
