PG&E warns of possible PSPS outages in Monterey and San Benito counties<\/p>\n

PG&E says that due to continued high fire danger conditions, it is monitoring potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) for parts of California, including portions of the Central Coast.<\/p>\n

According to PG&E, some customers in several counties could be affected by planned shutoffs on Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, due to high winds and dry conditions. <\/p>\n

PG&E said specific addresses, maps, and shutoff details are typically available about two days before a shutoff. To see if your home may be impacted, click here. <\/a><\/p>\n

What customers should know<\/p>\n

PG&E urges customers to prepare in advance in case power is turned off. Public Safety Power Shutoffs are used to help reduce the risk of wildfires during dangerous weather conditions.<\/p>\n

If a shutoff occurs, PG&E says power will remain off until weather conditions improve and crews can inspect lines and equipment to make sure it is safe to restore service.<\/p>\n

As of yet, no resource centers have been set up for customers who may lose power in South Monterey and San Benito counties. <\/p>\n

Additional support <\/p>\n

Local food banks can provide food replacement during a PSPS and up to three days after. Some may have income restrictions and limited supplies of food. You can find a local food bank here.<\/a><\/p>\n

You may be eligible for hotel discounts during a PSPS. You may be asked to verify your status as a PG&E customer.<\/p>\n
