Renowned artist and illustrator Kevin Tong always somehow manages to instill a sense of kinetic and ethereal energy to all his artwork. Wings are flapping and hearts are beating and it takes a moment to realize you’re not looking at a moving picture. Kevin somehow has hit pause in the middle of chaos and is showing us the stillness in the eye of an artistic tornado. Has time stopped? Has time slowed down? Is time going so fast that you can’t even perceive it? Yes, it’s probably all of that.

When you do finally come out of your Tong-induced daze, then it’s his use of color that strikes you. How many shades of black are you seeing? Wasn’t that exact same shade of orange the color of that sunset you saw last year? What is reflecting off that blue he’s using? Is it another blue? Your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you, but Tong might be. His adept use of color will leave you wondering.

You can find Kevin at San Diego Comic-Con, booth #4718, all weekend long. In addition to all of the below mentioned items, he will also be selling cardboard tubes and is happy to help ship any of his posters straight to your home. All posters he sells will come signed, and although he can’t sign posters sold at other booths during the event, he is happy to sign older posters (please package prints so the lower right corner can be accessed without unrolling the whole print.)

Let’s see what Kevin will have for us:

“For me the International Space Station is a symbol of how multiple countries, including ones at odds, can put aside those differences and achieve incredible things. I was saddened by talks to de-orbit the space station, so ‘ISS’ is my visual desire and hope that generations from now, the ISS can still be an integral part of human life and continue uniting us. Art-wise, I wanted to challenge myself by creating an art print that used mostly flat colors and by keeping the image simple, direct, calm, and intimately focused on the drawing.”
