{"id":399181,"date":"2026-07-15T10:15:37","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/399181\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T10:15:37","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:15:37","slug":"victim-named-after-fatal-fire-at-davis-apartment-complex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/399181\/","title":{"rendered":"Victim named after fatal fire at Davis apartment complex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1784110536_336_SAC generic police still chyron frame.png\"   width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" title=\"\" alt=\"Police tape at crime scene\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Yolo County Coroner\u2019s Office has identified the man who <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/local\/article316474164.html\">died Saturday morning in a fire at a Davis apartment complex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kataurus Dontay Bryant, 48, was killed in the fire at the Owendale Mutual Housing Community in the 3000 block of Albany Avenue, Yolo County Deputy Coroner Gina Moya said.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters responded shortly before 8:15 a.m. and found a bedroom on fire, Battalion Chief Matt Galloway said. Crews contained the blaze to the bedroom and prevented it from spreading to other units.
