{"id":400890,"date":"2026-07-16T16:15:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T16:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/400890\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T16:15:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T16:15:10","slug":"sacramentos-casa-east-sac-closes-after-nearly-4-years-citing-challenges-facing-small-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/400890\/","title":{"rendered":"Sacramento&#8217;s Casa East Sac closes after nearly 4 years, citing challenges facing small businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casa East Sac has closed its doors after nearly four years in East Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant announced the immediate closure in an Instagram post Wednesday, calling it an &#8220;incredibly difficult decision.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Like many small businesses, we&#8217;ve faced challenges that ultimately led us here,&#8221; owners Teddy and Steve Gibanov wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Casa East Sac <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/gooddaysacramento\/video\/casa-east-sac\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">opened in September 2022<\/a> at the corner of H and 54th streets, taking over the former Joon Market space.<\/p>\n<p>Brothers Steve and Theodore Gibanov founded the restaurant after more than 20 years working in catering and the restaurant industry.<\/p>\n<p>The closure comes just weeks after Casa East Sac <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/gooddaysacramento\/video\/casa-east-sac-is-bringing-back-lunch\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced<\/a> it was bringing back lunch service in June.<\/p>\n<p>In their farewell message, the owners thanked customers, employees, vendors, landlords and the surrounding community for supporting the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you for every meal shared, every celebration hosted, every conversation, every laugh, and every memory made within these walls,&#8221; they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>No additional details about the reasons for the closure were given.<\/p>\n<p>\n          More from CBS News\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Casa East Sac has closed its doors after nearly four years in East Sacramento.
