Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air
\nPollution Advisory…in effect until 8 PM PDT Friday.<\/p>\n
Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions
\nwill cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy
\nlevels.<\/p>\n
Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at
\nrisk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung
\ndisease, older adults and pregnant people.<\/p>\n
People can take the following precautions to protect their health:<\/p>\n
– Follow local burn restrictions to prevent deteriorating air
\nquality.
\n– Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality.
\n– People with heart or lung problems and young children are
\nespecially vulnerable. These people should stay indoors while smoke
\nlevels are high.
\n– Use certified High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters in
\nindoor heating, ventilation, cooling and air purification systems.
\n– Avoid using wood-burning stoves and other sources of indoor smoke
\nif possible.<\/p>\n
