A gun-toting California county leader is drawing attention after starring in an action-packed promo video that sees him riding in a military tank, handling firearms<\/a> and racing across the water in a speedboat ahead of this year\u2019s State of Fresno County Address.<\/p>\n

The newly released clip features Board of Supervisors Chair Garry Bredefeld stepping out of a military vehicle while carrying a rifle before appearing in a string of cinematic scenes<\/a> that include boarding a helicopter and riding an ATV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What the f\u2014 does that have to do with the state of Fresno County<\/a>? Nothing. You\u2019re just parading your deficiencies, shorty!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another critic went straight for the jugular, questioning \u201chow much taxpayer money was used for this ED commercial?\u201d<\/p>\n

Bredefeld defended the production, telling ABC30<\/a> the $7,000 video was paid for entirely by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce and that no Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office overtime was used during filming.<\/p>\n

He also pushed back on criticism over the scenes showing him with firearms.<\/p>\n

When asked whether it was \u201ca good look for the chairman of the board,\u201d Bredefeld replied: \u201cAbsolutely, I love guns, and I also believe people should get CCWs and exercise their Second Amendment right.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described the video as a tribute to law enforcement and said a longer version will be shown during the State of the County event.<\/p>\n

Bredefeld said the proposal aims to celebrate traditional families and their place in society\u2014adding that the resolution partly responds to what he calls efforts to \u201cindoctrinate\u201d children in schools, libraries, zoos and sports programs.<\/p>\n

He also argued Fresno County would be joining a broader movement<\/a> taking shape elsewhere in the country.<\/p>\n
