(KRON<\/a>) \u2014 A person who police say hid a camera in the restroom of a Bay Area Starbucks was arrested earlier this month, the San Jose Police Department announced Thursday. SJPD officers initially responded back on June 9 at 9:30 a.m. to a report of an invasion of privacy at a Starbucks located on the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street.<\/p>\n

The person who made the report, an employee of the Starbucks, found the camera hidden in the restroom.<\/p>\n

The SJPD Sexual Assaults Unit launched an investigation and discovered that a man had installed the camera on the same morning it was reported. Using automated license plate reader cameras and real-time intelligence, detectives identified the suspect vehicle.<\/p>\n

The suspect was subsequently identified as 38-year-old David Perales of San Jose. Officers obtained an arrest warrant for him.<\/p>\n

Perales was located and arrested in the city of San Jose on July 2. He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for invasion of privacy.<\/p>\n
