The National Weather Service says that advisory will take effect 5 p.m. Sunday and last through 11 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The biggest impact the tropical storm will have is at the region&#8217;s beaches. The swell is expected to create strong rip currents and waves between 4 and 7 feet, with sets up to 8 feet at south-facing beaches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Beaches in southern Orange County and down into San Diego will see even stronger surf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">By Saturday morning, the storm system was traveling 65 miles per hour several hundred miles off the coast of southwestern Mexico, according to the <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/cyclones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">National Hurricane Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Wind speeds are expected to weaken as it approaches the SoCal coast, forecasted to reach 35 mph by Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KABC Television, LLC.
