Read more on our AI policy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/nation-world\/national\/article280707640.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday at 7:02 p.m. the NWS Los Angeles\/Oxnard CA issued an updated high surf advisory valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Tuesday 11 p.m. The advisory is for Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Large breaking waves building to 4 to 7 feet with dangerous rip currents,&#8221; can be expected according to the NWS. &#8220;Highest surf will be focused across south facing beaches due to a southerly swell produced by Tropical Storm Elida.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore,&#8221; adds the NWS. &#8220;Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers.
