Bay Area authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying a man killed in a vehicle crash 40 years ago in the hopes of notifying his family.<\/p>\n
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner has released a sketch of a passenger of a van that had crashed near Shore Road just west of Lovers Lane in Hollister (San Benito County) around 4 p.m. on Aug. 1, 1986. He was in a Chevrolet Corvair with two other passengers when the van was struck by a Cadillac El Dorado.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The victim was taken to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister and then to Stanford Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the agency said.<\/p>\n
One of the passengers identified him as Louis Sanchez, but his name could not be confirmed, the medical examiner said.<\/p>\n
The victim was white or Latino, 20 to 40 years old, stood 5 feet, 4 inches, and weighed 165 pounds. He had dark brown hair, a brown mustache, brown eyes and natural teeth “in good repair,” the agency said. He did not have tattoos.<\/p>\n
The medical examiner’s office did not immediately respond to a request for more details on the case, including why the sketch was released 40 years later.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information on the victim is asked to call the medical examiner’s office at 408-793-1903, referencing case number 86-1584.<\/p>\n
