How about the most delicious corn dogs?<\/p>\n<p>The fair intends to find out with a <a href=\"https:\/\/castatefair.com\/food-competition\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fair Food Competition<\/a> scheduled Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom deep-fried creations to gourmet twists on classics, the competition highlights the must-try bites of the fair \u2014 and you can be there to see who takes home the ribbons!\u201d fair officials said.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of guest judges will sample dishes and award ribbons in several categories.<\/p>\n<p>Fairgoers are invited to watch the live judging from 4:30- 7:30 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place at the SMUD Energy Efficient Cooking Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The contest is open to all fair food vendors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEntries range from outrageous indulgences to modern takes on cultural classics \u2014 all made fresh by the talented chefs and vendors who feed the fair,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The California State Fair at Cal Expo at 1600 Exposition Blvd. in Sacramento opened Friday and runs through Aug. 2.<\/p>\n<p>The fair is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>  Loading\u2026<\/p>\n<p>        Related Stories from  Sacramento Bee<\/p>\n<p>                <a class=\"author-name\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/profile\/218174905\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Don Sweeney<\/a><\/p>\n<p>                    The Sacramento Bee<\/p>\n<p>            Don Sweeney has been a newspaper reporter and editor in California for more than 35 years.
