A man was killed early Saturday in an e-bike accident in Ventura County.<\/p>\n
The Ventura County Sheriff\u2019s department said deputies from the Camarillo station, responding to a 2 a.m. call, found the man lying near his e-bike in the center of the 3900 block of Las Posas Road. <\/p>\n
First responders tried to save the man, authorities said, but he died from his injuries. <\/p>\n
The man\u2019s name has not been released, pending notification of relatives. The Sheriff\u2019s Department did not say whether another vehicle was involved in the crash. <\/p>\n
E-bikes have risen in popularity in recent years, particularly among teenagers, coinciding with a rise in serious collisions, some involving death. Amazon recently agreed to halt sales<\/a> of high-speed e-bikes in the state after a series of fatal crashes.<\/p>\n The Los Angeles City Council<\/a> is pushing to ban the bikes on city hiking and equestrian trails.
