Police said the child\u2019s family is cooperating with the investigation<\/p>\n

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. \u2013 Michigan State Police are asking for the public\u2019s help in a hit-and-run investigation that left a child hospitalized in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Update: Person of interest in custody after hit-and-run critically injures child in Oakland County<\/a><\/p>\n

Police said the young boy was struck by a vehicle Sunday (July 20) around 11:15 p.m. on 8 Mile Road near Wyoming, but investigators have not been able to determine why he was near the roadway late at night. <\/p>\n

Police said the child\u2019s family is cooperating with the investigation.<\/p>\n

Officials said they do not have a description of the vehicle involved or information about the driver.<\/p>\n

Michigan State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the incident to contact the Metro North Post.<\/p>\n

Authorities said even small details from potential witnesses could help investigators identify the vehicle involved and determine what happened.<\/p>\n

The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
