People are buzzing<\/a> about the new building going up at Fancher Creek<\/a>. What is it?<\/p>\n

A bank.<\/p>\n

And while that may not be the most exciting news for new places to eat, drink or shop, there is a new Chipotle<\/a> that just started construction directly behind it.<\/p>\n

Even more businesses are still coming to the shopping center \u2014 and at least one place developers had teased is not coming.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an updated look at what\u2019s next for the big new center at Clovis and Tulare avenues.<\/p>\n

Stores and restaurants at Fancher Creek<\/p>\n

The building with walls that\u2019s nearly finished past In-N-Out and the traffic circle is a US Bank<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Just behind it, construction has recently started on a Chipotle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t have any walls or floors yet. But, a Chipotle representative said the restaurant is expected to be open by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Michaels<\/a>, the craft store, is still on track to open in the center, according to Tracy Kashian, senior vice president of marketing and public relations for both Fancher Creek and River Park in north Fresno.<\/p>\n

HomeGoods<\/a>, the popular discount decor and gift store, is gearing up for its grand opening<\/a> at Fancher Creek from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30.<\/p>\n

Inside tip: Although the grand opening celebration is July 30, the store is scheduled to hold its soft opening (when they quietly open to the public to work out the kinks before the big day) Tuesday, July 28, according to Kashian.<\/p>\n

The store joins Sprouts, Target and In-N-Out, which opened to long lines last winter<\/a>. PetSmart opened at the end of May.<\/p>\n

What about Starbucks?<\/p>\n

For now, Starbucks is not coming, Kashian said.<\/p>\n

The coffee giant was teased on marketing materials, and talks were happening with the company, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it never went through,\u201d she said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean it won\u2019t happen in the future, but not right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, there is a Starbucks up and running inside Target.<\/p>\n

A second phase of construction will include a movie theater and more retail spaces.<\/p>\n

Two apartment complexes \u2014 Brandhaven<\/a> senior housing and Sarah\u2019s Court<\/a> family housing \u2014 are also open near the center.<\/p>\n
