(KABC) &#8212; A medical center in Los Alamitos was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning as police confronted a machete-wielding man in a parking lot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The incident occurred at UCI Health &#8211; Los Alamitos, resulting in a massive response by officers from at least two agencies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A swarm of officers from the Long Beach and Los Alamitos police departments descended on the medical center located at 3751 Katella Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A bystander&#8217;s video showed the shirtless suspect pacing back and forth on a sidewalk, swinging the machete and apparently yelling at nearby officers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Whether the man was taken into custody was not immediately confirmed, but video from AIR7 later showed officers moving through the parking lot on foot as the investigation got underway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A spokesperson for the Orange County Fire said firefighters were on standby at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Department said its deputies were not involved in the response and referred questions to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KABC Television, LLC.
