It\u2019s almost like we didn\u2019t get any chance for fall or Thanksgiving at all.<\/p>\n<p>So now that we\u2019re in Christmas mode, instead of sipping a pumpkin spice latte,\u00a0 I\u2019m shopping for pajamas \u2014so I\u2019ll have something to wear for the 41st Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade, which will take place on the Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 6.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the folks at the Belmont Shore Business Association, who put on the parade, are hoping to break the world record for the biggest pajama party ever with the theme \u201cJingle &amp; Jammies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 2025, organizers are asking parade participants to curbside spectators \u2014 to wear their favorite festive pajamas,\u201d the event\u2019s website said, \u201cin an attempt to set a world record for the most people wearing pajamas at one time at a public event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plans call for over a dozen local marching bands, 100 entries, cub scouts, marching bands, and a couple carloads of Grunion Gazette and Press Telegram writers,\u00a0 waving and celebrating the season.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of friends and families are expected to line up along Second Street for the best parade viewing of the night, including appearances from Santa Claus, plenty of elves, colorful bands, costumes, floats , and more.<\/p>\n<p>There are already over 100 parade entries so far, including over a dozen local marching bands, cub scouts, and, of course, a couple carloads of Grunion Gazette and Long Beach Press-Telegram writers, waving at the crowds and celebrating the season.<\/p>\n<p>For more details about this year\u2019s parade, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/belmontshore.org\/christmasparade\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">belmontshore.org\/christmasparade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The folks at The Ordinarie have also jumped on the early Christmas bandwagon.<\/p>\n<p>The Ordinarie will be closed until Friday, Nov. 7, as their little elves are transforming the space into Miracle \u2014 an immersive Christmas cocktail pop-up. The eatery is located at 210 The Promenade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year is bigger and better than ever before. The d\u00e9cor is unhinged, over-the-top and as kitschy as ever,\u201d the business posted online. \u201cWe have new surprises big enough to make even the Grinch grin. Join us this Friday for a Christmas Miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve also promised some new menu items \u2014 though there are no details about that yet.<\/p>\n<p>Liquidation sale<\/p>\n<p>Compound and its restaurant, Union, located at 1395 Coronado Ave., closed last month \u2014 and starting today, the business will host a liquidation sale to get rid of the restaurant\u2019s\u00a0 furniture, appliances, catering equipment, and more.<\/p>\n<p>The sale will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both Thursday, Nov. 6 and Friday, Nov. 7.<\/p>\n<p>All items will be final sale, and buyers will be required to bring their own packing and moving equipment.<\/p>\n<p>New chef<\/p>\n<p>Wood &amp; Salt Tavern, located at 4262 Atlantic Ave., has a new executive chef \u2014 who is bringing some new items to the menu.<\/p>\n<p>The new chef, Albert Lopez, will bring bold flavors and \u201cchef-driven passion\u201d to Wood &amp; Salt Tavern\u2019s kitchen, the restaurant wrote in a recent social media post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery dish starts with fire, but it\u2019s finished with intent,\u201d Lopez said in the post. \u201cThat\u2019s where true flavor lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some new menu highlights include a 72-hour fermented housemade bread with tomato chili fennel butter and grilled prawns with bone marrow salsa verde, Calabrian chili crunch, burnt lemon aioli, and kaffir lime.<\/p>\n<p>The tavern also teased a brand-new brunch menu that is set to launch next weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome taste what\u2019s next,\u201d the restaurant wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Burgers and pie<\/p>\n<p>The Win~Dow on Second Street in Belmont Shore will offer $3 slices of Superba Pumpkin Pie every Thursday through Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>The pies will only be available in-house \u2014\u00a0 and will only be available while supplies last.<\/p>\n<p>Liv\u2019s, the restaurant at\u00a0 5237 Second St. known for its locally sourced seafood, also announced new hours for the winter season. Here are the new hours:<\/p>\n<p>Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.<br \/>\nSaturdays from noon to 9 p.m.<br \/>\nSunday for brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re adjusting our hours for the winter season to match the flow of business,\u201d the restaurant said in a recent newsletter, \u201cbut don\u2019t worry, your favorite dishes, drinks, and oysters are here waiting for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>90th anniversary<\/p>\n<p>LBS Financial Credit Union celebrated its 90th anniversary last month.<\/p>\n<p>The business was founded in 1935 by employees of Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach City College, according to a recent news release.
