(WCIV) \u2014 Passengers aboard a whale watching boat in central California were<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews4.com\/news\/local\/morning-buzz-whale-watchers-catch-rare-sight-of-orcas-hunting-dolphins-in-california-trending\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> treated to a special show <\/a>over the weekend in Monterey Bay. <\/p>\n<p>A pod of killer whales was spotted hunting a group of dolphins in a scene that is pretty rare for whale watchers.<\/p>\n<p>The passengers aboard a Sanctuary Cruises Boat spotted the battle where adult orcas can be seen ramming a dolphin with enough force to send it clean out of the water. <\/p>\n<p>The orcas themselves were even seen going full airborne in the pursuit.<\/p>\n<p>Officials state that orca sightings in the area are relatively common, but for a vessel to witness this type of attack is pretty rare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"MONTEREY BAY, Calif.
