{"id":410034,"date":"2026-07-23T23:03:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T23:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/410034\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T23:03:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T23:03:09","slug":"arraignment-delayed-for-tiktok-influencer-gabriela-gonzalez-accused-of-murder-for-hire-plot-against-jack-avery-of-why-dont-we","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/410034\/","title":{"rendered":"Arraignment delayed for TikTok influencer Gabriela Gonzalez, accused of murder-for-hire plot against Jack Avery of Why Don&#8217;t We"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">LOS ANGELES &#8212; Arraignment has been delayed for a TikTok influencer who prosecutors say targeted her child&#8217;s father, who is a pop singer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The attorneys for all three defendants, the TikTok influencer, her father and her ex-boyfriend requested their arraignment and plea be pushed to September due to the need for more time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Gabriela Gonzalez, along with her ex-boyfriend Kai Cordrey, waived their rights to a speedy arraignment in a Los Angeles, California courtroom Thursday, requesting their arraignment and plea be pushed to September.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The two, along with Gonzalez&#8217;s father, are charged with multiple counts, including the attempted murder of Jack Avery, who Gonzalez shares a 7-year-old daughter with.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Avery is also a former member of the boy band Why Don&#8217;t We.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Gonzalez&#8217;s father, Francisco, was arrested in Florida and is expected to be extradited to Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Prosecutors asked the judge not to grant the request to delay the hearing in an effort to get the case moving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Prosecutors allege the 2021 <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/tiktok-influencer-gabbie-gonzalez-father-charged-alleged-plot-murder-singer-jack-avery-dont-band\/19138103\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">murder-for-hire plot<\/a> stemmed from a years-long bitter child custody battle between Gabriela Gonzalez and Avery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">According to court documents, Los Angeles prosecutors say Gonzalez partnered with her ex, Cordrey, and her father to surveil the pop star. They allegedly discussed hiring a hitman to make the killing look like a deadly car crash. Prosecutors also say they discussed Bitcoin payments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Documents also show witnesses told investigators that Gonzalez repeatedly said she wanted Avery dead, and her father helped pay for the alleged murder-for-hire plot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">According to prosecutors, the plot was ultimately foiled when they say Francisco Gonzalez spoke with a federal agent posing as the hitman, allegedly used the bull run code words and referenced Bitcoin payments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The attorneys representing the defendants said there&#8217;s too much discovery to go through in a short period of time to enter a plea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">The judge granted the request to push arraignment to Sept. 14 for all three defendants.
