On Wednesday afternoon, the San Francisco Giants<\/a> will play the finale of their three-game series with the Kansas City Royals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Giants<\/a> will look to avoid getting swept after losing each of the first two games.<\/p>\n

They most recently dropped Tuesday\u2019s game 3-2.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The Giants lost 5-4.<\/p>\n

During their series with the Royals, news came out that the Giants<\/a> had released Dylan Hecht from their organization.<\/p>\n

MLB.com wrote<\/a> (on July 21): \u201cRichmond Flying Squirrels released RHP Dylan Hecht.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hecht did not play in an MLB<\/a> game for the Giants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He had been with their Double-A affiliate.<\/p>\n

In 27 games this season<\/a>, Hecht went 2-1 with a 9.89 ERA.<\/p>\n

Baseball America had written (on April 25, 2025):<\/a> \u201cThis is a remarkable story. @SFGiants righty Dylan Hecht was pitching in rec leagues and had all but given up on his dream of pro ball. The Giants<\/a> come into Wednesday as the fourth-place team in the National League West with a 42-59 record in 101 games.<\/p>\n

They have an extremely talented roster, but have failed to meet expectations this season.<\/p>\n

Over their last ten games, the Giants<\/a> have gone 4-6 (and they are 20-34 in 54 games on the road).<\/p>\n
