(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The City of Bakersfield was awarded more than $14 million in state funding toward the Ramkabir Permanent Housing Project.<\/p>\n<p>The project is to address homelessness.<\/p>\n<p>The City said a 38-room converted motel will include 15 units reserved specifically for veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness with behavioral health challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be at 901 Union Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The City said it is a partnership with Community Action Partnership of Kern.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"The City of Bakersfield was awarded more than $14 million in state funding toward the Ramkabir Permanent Housing Project.
