{"id":412253,"date":"2026-07-25T20:11:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T20:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/412253\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T20:11:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T20:11:16","slug":"rossmoor-dir-resigns-applications-being-accepted-to-fill-vacancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/412253\/","title":{"rendered":"Rossmoor Dir. resigns, applications being accepted to fill vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/rossmoorW.jpg\" data-caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"584\" height=\"436\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/rossmoorW.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"rossmoorW\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the five Rossmoor Community Services District Board seats that are elected at large in the community has been made vacant by the resignation of Board member Mary Ann Remnet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Remnet had announced publicly that she planned to resign her seat so that she could move closer to her family, RCSD General Manager Sharon Landers issued a statement this week indicating Remnet had accelerated her date of resignation and is no longer a member of the five-member Board.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the statement, Landers said candidates have until July 31 to qualify to fill Remnet\u2019s seat on the board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlease take notice that Director Mary Ann Remnet has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Rossmoor Community Services District effective July 12, 2026. As a result of this resignation there is now a vacancy on the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pursuant to Government Code Section 1780, the Board of Directors may, within 60 days of July 12, 2026, make an appointment to office Director to fill this vacancy,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, since Remnet moved her resignation date up to July 12, 2026, she said the District is therefore moving up the timeline for posting the Notice of Vacancy and interviews.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI have attached the Notice of Vacancy that we posted today. Letters of interest and a resume must be submitted to the District by 5p on July 31, 2026. Interviews of qualified candidates will be held by the Board at its Board meeting on August 11, 2026,\u201d said Landers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo be appointed, the individual must be a resident at least 18 years of age or older and a registered voter within the boundaries of the Rossmoor Community Services District,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Landers said the OC Registrar of Voters\u2019 office has agreed to work with the Community Service District to confirm registration to vote within Rossmoor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term of office for this position expires in December 2028. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone interested in being appointed is required to submit a letter of interest and a resume setting forth a brief summary of the person\u2019s interest, qualifications, and background.
