As the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> take on the New York Mets<\/a> in a three-game weekend series, manager Dave Roberts announced a pertinent Shohei Ohtani<\/a> injury update regarding his pitching status.<\/p>\n LA defeated the Mets on Friday night thanks to a late-inning 2-run home run from Kyle Tucker<\/a>. On Friday night, Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.<\/p>\n Shohei has been shut down since before the All-Star break due to a left knee injury. (Photo by Jim McIsaac\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n On Saturday, before the Dodgers game against the Mets, manager Dave Roberts revealed a new Shohei Ohtani injury update.<\/p>\n @THEREAL_DV (David Vassegh)<\/a> wrote (via X.com): \u201cDave Roberts said Ohtani \u201ckicked the can\u201d on his scheduled bullpen session today. Ohtani\u2019s knee didn\u2019t feel 100%\u201d<\/p>\n @JonHeyman also wrote:<\/a> \u201cShohei Ohtani\u2019s pen session scheduled for today was postponed as he didn\u2019t feel great in his last one. Dave Roberts said he still believes Ohtani will pitch again this season. And while the delay is \u201ca bummer,\u201d Roberts said that\u2019s he\u2019s going to be the MVP, regardless.\u201d<\/p>\n @UnderdogMLB states:<\/a> \u201cRoberts: Shohei Ohtani (knee) won\u2019t throw bullpen Saturday after \u201cregression\u201d since bullpen on Wednesday. His OPS+ is 153.<\/p>\n On the pitching side of things, Shohei has been just as dominant.
