Four men were shot<\/a> while trying to break up a fight between a man and a woman in San Francisco<\/a> on Saturday, police said. <\/p>\n

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. on the corner of Mason and Market streets in the city\u2019s downtown Tenderloin District, San Francisco police told SFGate. <\/a><\/p>\n

The men who were shot were trying to intervene in an altercation between a man and woman, both of whom were strangers to them. <\/p>\n

As the group of good Samaritans tried to stop the pair from arguing, the man pulled out a firearm and shot them, police said. <\/p>\n

All four of the men were hospitalized with injuries, but are expected to survive. Authorities did not share the extent of their injuries or any other information about the victims. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the shooter fled the scene, and authorities had not located him as of Sunday. <\/p>\n

Bilal Mahmood, the supervisor of San Francisco\u2019s District 5, which covers the neighborhood where the shooting unfolded, said on X Saturday that suspects had been identified, but no arrests were made yet. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was present at the crime scene and spoke to officers on the scene,\u201d Mahmood wrote. \u201cThanks to the actions of SFPD and RTIC, suspects have been identified.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe appreciate the swift actions of our first responders, and will be monitoring the situation as it develops,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n
