{"id":415222,"date":"2026-07-28T14:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/415222\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T14:26:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:26:10","slug":"livonia-man-accused-of-sexually-assaulting-girlfriends-child-in-oakland-county-the-oakland-press","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/415222\/","title":{"rendered":"Livonia man accused of sexually assaulting girlfriend\u2019s child in Oakland County \u2013 The Oakland Press"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 33-year-old Livonia man is facing multiple sex crime charges in Oakland County for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend\u2019s 11-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremiah Michael Bishop is charged with four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct \u2013 victim under 13 following an investigation that began last month after allegations were reported by the child\u2019s grandfather, according to the Oakland County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"mugshot\" width=\"214\" height=\"268\" data- src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/TOP-L-cscchild0728-01.jpg\" data-attachment-id=\"2949349\" \/>Jeremiah Bishop booking photo<\/p>\n<p>During interviews with detectives, the alleged victim\u2019s mother reported that her daughter had told her about the abuse and provided text messages allegedly sent by Bishop admitting it, the sheriff\u2019s office said. The child, interviewed at Care House, also disclosed multiple incidents of abuse, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Bishop at his mother\u2019s house on July 23.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing is more important than protecting our children. The allegations that this 31(sic)-year-old man sexually assaulted an 11-year-old child are horrific,\u201d Sheriff Mike Bouchard stated in a news release. \u201cAnyone who preys on a child must be held fully accountable. We will do everything in our power to protect children and pursue justice for victims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At Bishop\u2019s arraignment on July 24 in Novi\u2019s 52-1 District Court, bond was set at $850,000 cash or surety. If he posts bond, Bishop will be monitored by GPS tether as ordered by the court.
