To celebrate the massive momentum of soccer in Southern California\u00a0and invest in the future of local youth, The Home Depot\u00a0recently hosted a large-scale community service project at\u00a0Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach, Westside\/Freeman E. Fairfield Clubhouse.<\/p>\n

Following\u00a0The Home Depot\u2019s\u00a0$250,000 donation to support youth programs<\/a>\u00a0across the Greater Los Angeles area,\u00a0Team Depot, The Home Depot\u2019s associate volunteer force,\u00a0led\u00a0the hands-on transformation of the facility\u2019s soccer pitch\u00a0and other outdoor spaces. Partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America,\u00a0100 Team Depot associate volunteers\u00a0worked with local Club\u00a0youthto revitalize the space.<\/p>\n

Team Depot volunteers and Club teens teamed up to deliver\u00a0lasting\u00a0upgrades to the Club’s soccer pitch. Improvements included the installation of a new digital scoreboard, custom spectator benches, protective padding, international flag decor, and new shade sails.<\/p>\n

Hands-On Transformation and Skilled Trades Exposure<\/p>\n

Beyond the soccer pitch,\u00a0Team Depot\u00a0facilitated\u00a0a complete indoor and outdoor makeover to create a more welcoming, functional, and inspiring environment for the kids who rely on the Club daily.<\/p>\n

Upgrading landscaping with new sod, mulch, and plants to improve curb appeal.Building and installing custom outdoor gathering spaces, including a new BBQ area, pergolas, and\u00a0storage\u00a0shed.Painting custom murals, repainting the indoor welcome counter, and refreshing outdoor game lines.Assembling and installing brand-new storage lockers, cubbies, and backpack hooks for Club members.<\/p>\n
