(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office has identified the<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/chp-man-killed-after-being-hit-by-multiple-vehicles-on-highway-99-in-bakersfield-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> man who died after being struck by several vehicles on Highway 99 <\/a>as 43-year-old Shane Daniel Voris of Bakersfield.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/chp-man-killed-after-being-hit-by-multiple-vehicles-on-highway-99-in-bakersfield-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CHP: Man killed after being hit by multiple vehicles on Highway 99 in Bakersfield<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The California Highway Patrol said on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at around 1:48 a.m., officers were called to southbound Highway 99, south of White Lane, for reports of a traffic crash involving multiple vehicles and a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>According to CHP, a preliminary investigation found that Voris went into southbound Highway 99 from the shoulder, directly in the path of an unknown vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The unknown vehicle struck Voris, causing severe injuries. CHP said he was subsequently struck by multiple other vehicles, sustaining additional injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Voris was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple drivers remained on scene and were cooperative with investigators.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said there are potentially other vehicles involved that drove away from the scene.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone has information regarding this crash, they are asked to call CHP Bakersfield at (661) 396-6600.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
