Highland Park\u2014Palomino<\/a>, a new bar from the team behind Gold Line, opened this month at 5630 N. Figueroa Street in Highland Park. The dark, disco-ball-lit lounge serves cocktails including a celery-vodka martini, banana slushy and nitro carajillo, while DJs spin records nightly. Open daily from 5 p.m., Palomino replaces ETA, the intimate cocktail and oyster bar that occupied the space across from Highland Park Bowl before closing in 2024 after about eight years there.<\/p>\n Echo Park\u2014Sushi NROO,<\/a> an affordable sushi and ramen restaurant, began its soft opening<\/a> in July at 1487 W. Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. The menu includes sashimi, specialty rolls, ramen, crispy rice and Japanese small plates. Sushi NROO is located n Echo Exchange, the renovated restaurant complex near Dodger Stadium.<\/p>\n
Etc.<\/p>\n Atwater Village\u2014Holy Basil in Atwater Village has introduced a Bangkok-inspired summer menu featuring chive cakes with black soy vinaigrette, Thai aguachile, grilled chicken wings and two new curries. The restaurant is also offering a $28 lunch set with three selections: one wok-fired dish, one curry and one fried item. Los Angeles Magazine<\/a><\/p>\n Victor Heights\u2014Morihiro<\/a> is welcoming New York bartender and founder of the Museum of Food and Drink Dave Arnold for an evening of special drinks and snacks on Aug. 2.<\/p>\n Echo Park, Atwater Village and Elysian Valley\u2014The Los Angeles Stone Fruit Festival<\/a> is coming to a farmers\u2019 market this August, with family-friendly activities, stone fruit tastings and more in collaboration with Food Access LA. They\u2019ll be at Atwater Village Aug. 2, the L.A.
