SANTA CLARA \u2014 A tech company has bought a South Bay office campus in a deal that could leave it poised to expand its local operations after it acquired the property at a price discount.<\/p>\n
A subsidiary of electronics manufacturer Fabrinet has paid $76.9 million to purchase a three-building tech complex in Santa Clara, documents filed on July 29 with the Santa Clara County Recorder\u2019s Office show.<\/p>\n
The purchase is a fresh example of tech companies<\/a> increasingly seeking ways to expand and solidify their operations<\/a> in the South Bay, growth efforts that include industry titans<\/a> such as Google, Apple and Nvidia.<\/p>\n The Santa Clara buildings that the Fabrinet subsidiary bought have addresses of 2903, 2933 and 2953 Bunker Hill Lane, county documents show.<\/p>\n The all-cash deal for the tech campus could provide Fabrinet with an opportunity to expand its local operations.<\/p>\n The tech campus totals roughly 225,000 square feet, according to the Property Shark commercial real estate database.<\/p>\n That\u2019s roughly three times as large as an existing building totaling 74,000 square feet a half-mile away at 4900 Patrick Henry Dr. that Fabrinet also owns through a subsidiary.<\/p>\n Some companies are leasing space in portions of the Bunker Hill Lane campus.
