A Long Beach Transit bus struck a pedestrian who died two days later, police said Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The pedestrian, described only as a man, was struck at about 1:05 p.m. July 21 in the 400 block of Golden Shore, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Police said the bus was making a left turn onto an access road when it struck the pedestrian as he was crossing the street.<\/p>\n
Several good Samaritans rushed to assist the man until the arrival of Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, who took him to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The man died at the hospital on July 23.<\/p>\n
The bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives. Police said speed was not believed to be a factor in the fatal crash, nor were distracted or impaired driving.<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner was withholding the victim\u2019s name pending notification of relatives.<\/p>\n
