Similar temperatures are expected farther north in Stockton, Chico and Redding.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A large heat dome is set to overtake the western U.S. this weekend. And while it does attempt to back off a bit, it will reamerge mid-next week and keep temps in central and especially northern California hot even while SoCal cools down. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/cawx?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">#cawx<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/l0BYaPvAPv\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/l0BYaPvAPv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sean Macaday (@MacadayWX) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MacadayWX\/status\/2082645334824804816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">July 30, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>According to Carlos Molina, a meteorologist based at the National Weather Service\u2019s Hanford office, a disturbance currently over the Pacific Northwest is making its way to the Midwest.<\/p>\n<p>This will cause a heat dome, a collection of higher-pressure and warmer air stretching through to the upper atmosphere.
