California does not have a lower rate for tipped employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe if you work hard, you deserve a decent paycheck,\u201d Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said in the <a href=\"https:\/\/aboutbtax.com\/bmrl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Executive, administrative, and professional employees may be exempt from California\u2019s overtime-pay requirements if they earn at least double the minimum wage, under the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/aboutbtax.com\/bmrp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">labor code<\/a>.
