The Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians has been recognized by California State University, Fresno for a partnership that extends well beyond financial support, highlighting a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunities throughout the Central Valley.

Representatives from Fresno State recently visited the Tribe in Coarsegold to present the Tribal Council with a commemorative medallion recognizing its longstanding support of the university and its investment in higher education. For residents of Eastern Madera County, the recognition reflects another example of the Chukchansi Tribe’s role in supporting initiatives that reach beyond tribal lands. While many know the Tribe as the operator of Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino—one of Madera County’s largest employers—the Tribe has also invested in educational partnerships designed to create opportunities for future generations.

We are proud to support Fresno State’s mission and to partner with an institution that shares our commitment to serving the people of the Central Valley.”

“We are honored by this recognition,” Kamalani said. “More importantly, we value the friendship and mutual respect that define our relationship with Fresno State.
