(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A woman suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle while police say she was crossing the street outside a crosswalk early Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department said on Friday, July 31, 2026, at around 4:42 a.m., officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Union Avenue and 4th Street.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a pedestrian, identified as a female, was crossing outside of the crosswalk mid-block when the vehicle struck her.<\/p>\n<p>The pedestrian\u2019s injuries were moderate.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers.<\/p>\n<p>Police said neither speed nor intoxication are factors in the crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
