The warehouse operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/rebuild-permit-filed-fire-destroyed-boyle-heights-warehouse\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">submitted a building permit<\/a> to the city earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>At a Friday morning news conference, Bass said the East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights communities continue to suffer due to &#8220;irresponsible corporate action.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The operator of the warehouse, Lineage, already received an executive order from the mayor on June 29, a 45-day cleanup timeline.<\/p>\n<p>While Lineage says it is doing everything it can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/boyle-heights-lineage-milestone\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">to clean up the millions of pounds <\/a>of rotting food and control odors, rodents, and pests &#8212; the fines, violations, and formal complaints continue to pile up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The commitments they&#8217;ve made are commitments they failed to meet, I should say, are too many to count,&#8221; Bass said. <\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/screenshot-2026-07-31-093734.png#.png\" alt=\"screenshot-2026-07-31-093734.png \" height=\"331\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Mayor Karen Bass issues an executive order for city departments not to process Lineage rebuilding plans until the city and the public can review the investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                CBS LA<\/p>\n<p>She listed the company&#8217;s shortcomings: failing to provide sufficient relocation support for residents, failing to address odors, failing to prevent flies and rats from migrating into neighborhoods, failing to address residents&#8217; health concerns, and failing to notify the community of any changes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But despite all of this, Lineage had the audacity to submit plans to rebuild their warehouse.
