New details have emerged about San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader oddly aggravating his foot injury<\/a> in a scooter accident over the past weekend.<\/p>\n

The Giants previously released a statement Tuesday, which stated the 32-year-old \u201chad a scooter accident on Saturday night\/early Sunday morning,\u201d before he was set to meet with a specialist in Indianapolis about his lingering plantar fasciitis. However, the aggravation \u201cchanged the nature of his evaluation\u201d with the specialist, and Bader was set to undergo an MRI to assess the severity of the new injury.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, The San Francisco Chronicle\u2019s Shayna Rubin reported<\/a> Bader was involved in a vehicle collision while riding a scooter in the Marina District at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. He then \u201cwas transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries,\u201d the San Francisco Fire Department and San Francisco Police Department said in statements to the Chronicle, though Bader wasn\u2019t individually named.<\/p>\n

Before Thursday\u2019s game in San Diego, Giants manager Tony Vitello revealed Bader will miss the remainder of the 2026 MLB season, though the scooter incident didn\u2019t impact that status.<\/p>\n

Bader hasn\u2019t played for San Francisco since May 29 due to his foot injury, and he also missed about a month earlier in the season with a hamstring injury. As a result, after signing a two-year, $20.5 million free-agent contract last offseason, Bader only has played in 30 games during 2026.<\/p>\n
