Here are some tips on staying safe at outdoor weekend events and activities.<\/p>\n<p>The forecast for Sacramento predicts highs of 100 degrees on Friday, 102 degrees Saturday and 103 degrees Sunday with the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/weather-news\/article316707292.html\">high temperatures expected to continue into next week<\/a>, according to Sacramento Bee meteorologist Sean Macaday.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what to know:<\/p>\n<p>What events are planned in the Sacramento area?<\/p>\n<p>Numerous weekend farmers markets are planned across the region for Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Several museums, including the Crocker Art Gallery, California Museum, and California Automobile Museum, will offer free (and air- conditioned) admission under the Bank of America Museums on Us program.<\/p>\n<p>The A\u2019s play the Detroit Tigers at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento at 6:40 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The California State Fair continues at Cal Expo at 1600 Exposition Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>How can you beat the heat at outdoor events?<\/p>\n<p>Although vendors at the various farmers markets are often under tents or canopies, those can collect heat as the day progresses. Recommendations are to go early in the morning before it gets too hot. The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/exploremidtown.org\/midtown-markets\/\">Midtown Market<\/a> opens at 8 a.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Shaded Seats blog suggests the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shadedseats.com\/sutter-health-park-shaded-seats\/\">shadiest seats<\/a> at Sutter Health Park are behind home plate and along the third baseline, which become increasingly shaded during the afternoon at the ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>The California State Fair has taken steps to help fair goers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/california\/article316528209.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fight high temperatures<\/a>, including seven cool zones and water misting stations.<\/p>\n<p>The Sacramento Republic FC professional soccer team has posted a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacrepublicfc.com\/news\/2026\/07\/30\/know-before-you-go\/\">weather advisory<\/a> for its Aug. 1 match against Lexington SC. Attendees are allowing each fan to bring in one sealed water bottle, and there will be water refill stations behind Section 205.<\/p>\n<p>Spray parks and splash pads are available throughout the Sacramento area for the kids. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/e-edition\/livefeed-news\/article315744804.html\">The Sacramento Bee has a list of more than a dozen<\/a> along with rules for enjoying.<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saczoo.org\/\">Sacramento Zoo<\/a> also has misting stations and plenty of shade. It\u2019s recommended visiting in the morning when not only is it cooler but also when the animals are more active.<\/p>\n<p>Other tips to beat the heat<\/p>\n<p>When<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/nation-world\/national\/article252424288.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> temperatures are extremely<\/a> high, some people\u2019s bodies can have trouble regulating temperature.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases, people can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/extreme-heat\/signs-symptoms\/index.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">experience heat exhaustio<\/a>n and have muscle cramps, nausea, weakness and cold or clammy skin, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>\n<p>If heat exhaustion persists for too long, however, it can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/heat-stroke\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20353581\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lead to heatstroke<\/a>, the most serious form of heat injury. People experiencing heatstroke can have hot, red, dry or damp skin.
