WALNUT CREEK \u2013 Authorities on Wednesday announced the arrests of five men on suspicion of traveling to Walnut Creek to meet a child for sex.<\/p>\n
The arrests stemmed from a multi-agency operation focusing on adults who use social media to target children for sexual exploitation, the Walnut Creek Police Department said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The suspects were identified as a 67-year-old Walnut Creek man, a 42-year-old man visiting from Germany, a 36-year-old Marin County man, a 32-year-old Concord man and a 29-year-old Concord man.<\/p>\n
They were arrested on suspicion of crimes including attempted lewd acts with a minor, contacting a minor to commit a sex offense and arranging to meet a minor for sex, police said.<\/p>\n
The Walnut Creek man was also arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, police said.<\/p>\n
Police did not disclose any other details about the operation, including when it took place.<\/p>\n
