<\/p>\nREDDING, California \u2014 The Republican candidate for California’s governor, Steve Hilton, joined Shasta County\u2019s GOP for their annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner at the Win-River Casino. Sharing his idea of what a future California would look like under republican leadership. <\/p>\n
\u201cEnough is enough, here\u2019s Steve Hilton,” said Valerie Volbrecht, president of Shasta GOP as she introduced the Republican candidate to a room full of applause.<\/p>\n
The London born politician was welcomed to a room full of cheers by leaders, activists, and passionate members of the Shasta County Republican Party. Hilton described himself ahead of the dinner as someone separate from the political world when compared to his opponent Xavier Becerra. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a outsider,” Hilton said. “I\u2019ve never run for office before. I\u2019m running to shake up a system that is obviously not working.” <\/p>\n
Following the meal Hilton opened his speech with an AI video of Becerra, Governor Gavin Newsom, and Kamala Harris, with them all swearing allegiance to a “political machine” that controls whose in office. However, while comparatively an outsider to California politics, Hilton is no stranger to the political machine he says Becerra represents. <\/p>\n
Hilton started his career out of university as a political advertiser. He shifted into political advising in the early 2000s, and is attributed as playing a major role in the rebrand of the UK’s Conservative Party that eventually landed them the Prime Minister’s Office. To which he acted as an advisor for from 2010 to 2012, when he moved to California. The move to the states did not slow Hilton’s political efforts. He started a company focused around fundraising for Republican candidates in 2013 and in 2017 began working as a political commentator on Fox’s ‘The Next Revolution. <\/p>\n
Now he’s taking his first step into the ring himself with the race for the state’s governor. <\/p>\n

\u201cLook what\u2019s happening,” Hilton said in his speech. “In our country and across the world. It\u2019s all the same. I\u2019m fighting for so many things in this election but I\u2019m also fighting to make sure that this state I love does not turn into the country that I left.\u201d<\/p>\n
From wolves to water Hilton committed to walking back almost every decision democratic governors have made since the last republican was in the office with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Promising all of his policies will have one focus, making California more affordable. <\/p>\n
Hilton said even though Democrats significantly outnumbering Republicans in registered voters, he believes there\u2019s a path to victory if every Republican gets to the polls. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you get one other person who wasn\u2019t gonna vote and make them vote Republican, you\u2019ve just doubled the vote,” Hilton instructed the audience. “It\u2019s very very important, we do it in the grassroots. We don\u2019t have the machine, we have the people on our side, and we have the message people want to hear.\u201c<\/p>\n
