{"id":420638,"date":"2026-08-01T08:20:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T08:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/420638\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T08:20:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T08:20:10","slug":"dredging-underway-at-beach-haven-west-complex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/420638\/","title":{"rendered":"Dredging underway at Beach Haven West Complex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) said that a maintenance dredging project of the Beach Haven West Complex located in Harvey Cedars, Stafford, Eagleswood and Long Beach, Ocean County, is underway. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/dredge-pipe-768x482.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large\" alt=\"\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>photo courtesy of NJDOT<\/p>\n<p>The $8.4 million dollar project is set to restore the Harvey Cedars, Harvey Cedars 2, Margos, Beach Haven West Mill Creek, Cedar Run and Little Egg channels to their authorized depths. <\/p>\n<p>Last month, NJDOT\u2019s contractor H&amp;L Construction began hydraulic dredging operations that will continue 24 hours, 7 days a week until project completion, which is expected in December 2026. <\/p>\n<p>According to NJDOT, the project will restore the channels to their authorized depths, varying from 5 feet to 8 feet at mean low water to ensure safe navigation and access to channels in Barnegat Bay.
