San Francisco police arrested a man on attempted murder and other felony charges after a reported shooting on July 23 damaged an occupied vehicle, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to the area of Steiner and Bush streets after receiving a report of shots fired.<\/p>\n
The victim told dispatchers a gunshot shattered a vehicle window and that the suspect fled in a yellow vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n
Police said officers used the department\u2019s Drone as First Responder program and the city\u2019s automatic license plate reader system to track the suspect vehicle.<\/p>\n
A patrol sergeant later located the vehicle parked nearby, and officers detained a man matching the suspect\u2019s description without incident, according to the San Francisco Police Department.<\/p>\n
Investigators said officers recovered a handgun near the vehicle and found additional ammunition during a search of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The suspect was booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, SFPD said.<\/p>\n
Police did not release the suspect\u2019s identity, citing the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
