Daniel Ramirez<\/a>\u2018s body had been there for several days or even weeks.<\/p>\nRamirez\u2019s family says he had been missing for 22 days before the discovery.<\/p>\n
Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s officials say his death is not suspicious.<\/p>\n
Sunday night, hundreds filled Trolley Park in central Fresno to release balloons in memory of Ramirez.<\/p>\n
Before red and white balloons filled Fresno\u2019s skies, Ramirez\u2019s siblings surrounded their father, who spoke warmly about his son.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Daniel gave me the strength for this. Daniel was my son. He was my best friend. He was really my only\u2026 he was my guy,\u201d said Ramirez\u2019s father, holding back tears as he addressed the crowd of mourners.<\/p>\n
The vigil was held on the same night as Ramirez\u2019s father\u2019s birthday, but the only celebration the balloons there symbolized was his son\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
His family says during his 30 years on earth, Ramirez was loved deeply \u2014 including by his dog, who they say was in distress and died the night after he was found.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis dog went with him last night,\u201d said Ramirez\u2019s father before the balloon release.<\/p>\n
After the vigil, Action News spoke directly with Ramirez\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a kid, still. At heart, he was a kid. I\u2019m sure he wanted to do better. And he did \u2014 he worked with his dad. And I think it\u2019s the times, the times that we live in now. It\u2019s just so different than when I was growing up. And so, I think he kind of got caught up in this world that we live in now,\u201d said Fred Garcia, Ramirez\u2019s uncle.<\/p>\n
Neither family nor authorities have said how Ramirez died.<\/p>\n
The Fresno Police Department is investigating how he got on top of the school\u2019s roof.<\/p>\n
