The Angels traded outfielder Jo Adell to the Cleveland Guardians on Monday ahead of the MLB trade deadline.<\/p>\n

This marks the end of Adell\u2019s seven-season tenure in LA, after the Angels took him with the No. 10 pick of the 2017 MLB Draft. Adell made his debut in 2020 but wasn\u2019t a consistent starter for Los Angeles until 2024.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old Adell had a .240 average, 16 home runs and a .684 OPS when he was traded. While these offensive stats aren\u2019t extraordinary, Adell\u2019s defensive prowess was a big part of his trade value<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Adell\u2019s defensive abilities were best shown when he robbed three home runs during a game<\/a> in April, which nine-time Gold Glove Award winner Torii Hunter (arguably the greatest defender in Angels franchise history) said was \u201cprobably the greatest defensive game I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adell became a fan favorite over the years due to his exciting style of play and ability to deliver in the clutch.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also under team control for one more season after 2026, which surely helped the Angels find a home for him when discussing deals with potential suitors.<\/p>\n
