Next week is looking less hot (finally!), but this week is going to be an absolute scorcher.

Blazing heat was the rule this past weekend, with Fresno tying their hottest temperature of 2026 (so far) at 107 on Sunday. Monday should be a little hotter. Other high temperatures from Sunday include: Madera at 103, Merced hit 104, Los Banos and Porterville both up to 105, while Visalia and Hanford soared to 106.

Everyone in the Valley should be just a little bit hotter on Monday, with highs ranging from 105 to 109. We’ll hold close to that for Tuesday, then a little less hot Wednesday and Thursday.

Above: The Old Trails Fire burned at least 600 structures in west Spokane, WA on Saturday, and there are many other fires burning in the Pacific Northwest. California’s fire season is off to a quiet start so far… but this heat may change that.

But the heat’s not ready to give up just yet. Friday should see highs heat back up to the 103 to 108 range, then this Saturday could be the new hottest day of the year, with Valley highs up to 105-110!

Sunday will be a little less hot – but still a scorcher.

After that, the heat will finally back off. High temperatures should drop back to near 100, which is still hot – just not as hot as this week ahead will be.

This past weekend was HOT… and we’ll keep that going all week.
